Sir Gawain & The Green Knight: A Radio Drama
We are seeking six voice actors for an excerpt of Sir Gawain & The Green Knight, an original adaptation based on the iconic Middle English poem. This excerpt will be presented at the 2026 Student Creative Arts and Research Symposium at Texas Woman’s University.
Synopsis
Drawing from the Weston and Lewis translations, this original adaptation follows Gawain, nephew to King Arthur, as he accepts the mysterious Green Knight’s wager: a beheading game that must be answered one year later—or else.
Audition Guidelines
Submit a one-minute classical monologue to felix@paperbackproductions.com. A single rehearsal will take place over Zoom on a date to be determined. A finalized rehearsal schedule will be announced following the release of the cast list and will be determined based on actor availability.
Audition submissions are due April 5 at 6:00 PM.
Compensation
Voice actors will receive a $15 stipend. Selected actors will receive a written performance agreement outlining compensation, expectations, and scheduling prior to rehearsals. This agreement is intended to ensure clarity, transparency, and shared expectations throughout the process.
Recording Options
Voice actors local to Denton can record their lines in their personal studios or in the recording booth at the Digital Composition Laboratory at Texas Woman's University. In your audition email, please state your preferred option so we can reserve the DCL promptly.

Production Details

The excerpt consists of about ten pages of dialogue.
The excerpt will be presented at the TWU Symposium in April.
Voice actors will recieve a $15 stipend for their work.
